Paredes de Nava
Village
Paredes de Nava is a town in the Palencia stretch of Tierra de Campos, 20 kilometres from the provincial capital, Palencia, with around 1,925 inhabitants. Its municipal area, of almost 129 km², was from the Middle Ages until the mid-20th century the largest in the province, which gave the town a demographic weight that came to rival that of the capital itself. Birthplace of the Manrique family and the painter Pedro Berruguete, its Santa Eulalia church houses a parish museum with Berruguete's Reyes de Israel (Kings of Israel), and the town preserves four historic Iberian organs. The territory is split between the campiña lowlands, to the southwest, and the páramo, higher toward the northeast, where on clear days the Cantabrian mountain range and the sierra de la Demanda can be seen.
