What to see and do in Cobos de Cerrato

Cobos de Cerrato
Village
Cobos de Cerrato is a village in the El Cerrato comarca, in the province of Palencia, crossed from east to north by the río Franco, whose environmental value is recognised. Its place name, already documented in 1081, refers to round towers or cubes. The municipal area, which reaches 923 metres at the Concejera peak, holds traces of human settlement since the Bronze Age. It preserves the 16th-century church of San Román, and wine cellars overlooking the valley, whose grapes fall under the Ribera de Arlanza designation. The population, which reached 762 inhabitants in 1950, now stands at around 130.
