What to see and do in Mamolar

Mamolar
Village
Mamolar is a hamlet of 27 inhabitants in the Sierra de la Demanda comarca, 71 kilometers from Burgos, in a mountainous area crossed by the Ruta de la Lana and the Camino del Cid, and where three pilgrim routes to Santiago meet: that of Soria, that of la Lana and that of Sagunto. It preserves a well-kept traditional architecture. While cart-making existed, its residents made a living building carts, and very close to the village Almanzor passed by in the late 10th century on his way to San Millán de la Cogolla. On the Saturday closest to 1 May, the bailiff goes through the streets with his trumpet calling people to the pingada del mayo, and on 13 August the feast of Santa Céntola is celebrated.
