Terradillos de Esgueva
Village
Terradillos de Esgueva is a hamlet in the province of Burgos, in the Ribera del Duero comarca and the judicial district of Aranda de Duero, situated in the valley of the Esgueva river, with 58 inhabitants. It is recorded as Terratellos —a diminutive of "terrudo", adobe— in a donation of 27 April 1054 made by the noblewoman Muñadona to the abbot of San Pedro de Arlanza in the presence of King Fernando I and Queen Sancha, as recorded in that monastery's Cartulary. Between 1820 and 1927 it was attached to the municipality of Villatuelda. It preserves the Catholic church of Saint Andrew the Apostle, with a Romanesque portal and apse of the Esgueva School, and the PCR-BU 74 path, which crosses its territory through the old wine presses of the Esgueva river.
