What to see and do in Casas de Juan Núñez

Casas de Juan Núñez
Village
Casas de Juan Núñez is a municipality of La Manchuela, in the province of Albacete, with 1,409 inhabitants (INE 2025), on a mostly flat territory bordering Pozo-Lorente, Chinchilla de Monte-Aragón, Higueruela, Valdeganga, Villavaliente and Jorquera, with elevations to the south from the Cordillera de Montearagón. Its traditional economy of grain, olives, vines and livestock has given way in recent decades to transport, construction and quarrying. It retains a quarter of cave houses carved into the hillside next to Calle San Pedro and an 18th-century parish church that presides over the square; its main festival is San Isidro, with a procession to the hermitage and a day in the countryside. In the municipal territory a 5th-century BC Iberian horse sculpture was found, now in the Museo Arqueológico de Albacete.
