What to see and do in Arándiga

Arándiga
Village
Arándiga is a municipality in the Comunidad de Calatayud comarca, at 462 metres in altitude, crossed by the Aranda and Isuela rivers, which join at the spot known as La Juntura before flowing into the Jalón. It was granted town status by Alfonso II to Pedro de Huesca in 1188 and later belonged, as a lordship, to the counts of Morata. It preserves a ruined Arab castle, with a rehabilitation project under way, alongside a Mudéjar-era chapel and church. It is known in the comarca for the quality of its garlic, grown in orchards irrigated by acequias of Arab origin still in use, production complemented by fruit and livestock farming. It has 279 inhabitants (INE 2025).
