Jorcas
Village
Small municipality of Comunidad de Teruel, in Aragon, located above 1,350 metres in altitude, with barely 42 inhabitants (INE, 2025). It preserves the ruins of the medieval castle that in 1214 was ceded to Sancho VII of Navarre, and the parish church of la Asunción, from the 16th century, with a single nave, polygonal apse and star-ribbed vaults, given a rococo décor around 1746. The town hall sits beneath a three-arched loggia and dates from 1797. The municipality also holds two hermitages dedicated to Santa Águeda and San José. Its local festivals are celebrated on 29 April, in honour of San Pedro Mártir, and on 15 August, the feast of the Assumption.
