What to see and do in Campo

Campo
Village
Campo is a town in the comarca of Ribagorza, in Huesca, on the banks of the Ésera river, right at the heart of the comarca. Among its residents it preserves mid-Ribagorçan Aragonese and traditional crafts such as the game of birllas, as well as a Museum of Traditional Games unique in Spain. Its territory ranges from the 1905 metres of Peña Madrid to 650 metres by the river. The parish church, with a Latin cross floor plan and dedicated to the Virgin of the Assumption, was consecrated in the year 960 by Bishop Odisendo of Roda and rebuilt in Renaissance style in 1560. The town's festivities are held from 14 to 17 August and end with the Chinchana, a traditional dance native to Campo. It is the birthplace of Gaspar Torrente, leader of Aragonese nationalism. It has 491 inhabitants (INE 2025).
