What to see and do in Bisaurri

Bisaurri
Village
Bisaurri is a mountain municipality of Ribagorza, in the province of Huesca, whose territory ranges between 980 and 2,532 metres at the Tuca de Urmella, with the village itself sitting at 1,101 metres. It is spread across eleven population centres, including Arasán, Renanué and San Martín de Veri, where a bottling plant draws on the waters of the Veri spring. There is evidence of Neolithic groups in rock shelters and caves such as Els Trocs, with finds of polished stone tools, pottery and remains of sheep and goats. It preserves the parish church of San Cristóbal, of Romanesque origin reformed in the 16th century, in whose honour a pilgrimage is held on 10 July, as well as the feast of San Ramón Nonato on 31 August. It has around 177 inhabitants.
Church of Bisaurri
Monument
Parish church of Bisaurri dedicated to San Cristóbal, of Romanesque origin though remodelled in the 16th century. Around it, every 10 July, the pilgrimage of San Cristóbal is held, keeping alive popular devotion to the church's patron among the residents of the municipality, in the comarca of the Ribagorza.
Honey of the Ribagorza
Food and drink
The hives scattered over the comarca's slopes give wildflower, rosemary and forest honeys according to the altitude of the apiary; they are eaten with curd cheese or with walnuts and are used in the villages' anise baking.
