What to see and do in Azanúy-Alins

Azanúy-Alins
Village
Azanúy-Alins is a municipality in the comarca of La Litera, in eastern Huesca, formed by the settlements of Azanuy and Alins del Monte, south of the sierra de la Carrodilla, between Monzón and Binéfar. Azanuy preserves the hermitage of Santa Bárbara and an 18th-century parish church dedicated to Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, while Alins del Monte holds a Romanesque church of San Juan Bautista and the remains of a castle from the Islamic period. The village celebrates its festival on 20 January, in honour of San Sebastián, with a cultural week of talks that has brought together figures such as Manuel Gutiérrez Mellado and José Antonio Labordeta, and also on 29 April, for San Pedro de Verona. In winter it keeps the tradition of farinetas, a porridge of corn or wheat with fried bacon bits, fried garlic or honey.
