What to see and do in Angüés

Angüés
Village
Angüés is a municipality in the Hoya de Huesca comarca made up of the settlements of Angüés, Velillas and Bespén, with 350 inhabitants. It preserves the church of the Purificación de Nuestra Señora, a Romanesque church originating in the 12th century of which the central nave and semicircular apse remain, along with the original cornice beneath a later brick heightening. On the outskirts, on the old road to Casbas, there is a medieval well-spring or cistern, which some authors place in the Muslim period, nine metres deep and about twenty-three metres long divided into three vaulted sections. The hermitage of San Blas, with a main altar, sacristy and raised choir, was left almost destroyed in the Civil War, and only its façade was incorporated into the cemetery.
