Osso de Cinca
Village
Osso de Cinca is a municipality in the province of Huesca, in the Bajo Cinca region, which extends along the left bank of the Cinca river and includes, besides the main settlement, that of Almudáfar, joined to Osso in 1845. It has 644 inhabitants and its economy is based on irrigated farming, chiefly fruit and vegetables. During the 14th and 15th centuries it was held by the Zapata family and later the Bardají family, among them Berenguer de Bardají, Chief Justice of Aragon, to whom King Ferdinand I granted the castle and the place of Osso in 1414. It preserves the parish church of Santa Margarita, in Mudéjar style with a Renaissance portal. In this comarca, shoulder of Ternasco de Aragón stewed 'a la pastora' is a fixture on restaurant menus alongside oven-roasted lamb.
