What to see and do in Savallà del Comtat

Savallà del Comtat
Village
Savallà del Comtat is a small rural municipality of the Conca de Barberà, in the province of Tarragona, with mountainous terrain crossed by the shaded slopes (obagues) of the Corb river; known until the 19th century as Ceballa del Condado, it reached 467 inhabitants in 1860 and today has 49 (INE 2025). In 1599 Bernat de Boixadors, lord of these lands, was granted the title of count of Savallà. It preserves the castle of the counts of Savallà, rebuilt in the 15th and 16th centuries and now in ruins, and the parish church of Sant Pere, Gothic in style and built in the 18th century, damaged during the civil war. The village celebrates its festivals on 15 May, Saint Isidore's day, and on the first Sunday of October, the feast of the Virgin of the Rosary.
