What to see and do in Sarrià de Ter

Sarrià de Ter
Village
Sarrià de Ter is a municipality in the Gironès adjoining Girona, at the confluence of the Ter, Onyar and Güell rivers, with 5,406 inhabitants. It was already inhabited in Roman times, as shown by the remains of a 1st-century BC villa found in 1970. The village is organised into two centres: Sarrià de Dalt, the older one, around the church of Sant Pau, of Romanesque origin and documented since the 11th century as a possession of the monastery of Sant Pere de Galligants, much altered in the 17th and 18th centuries; and Sarrià de Baix, the municipal seat since the 19th century, with its neoclassical church of Nostra Senyora de la Misericòrdia, whose construction, begun then, was not completed until 1925.
