Sant Fost de Campsentelles
Village
Sant Fost de Campsentelles is a municipality in the Vallès Oriental comarca, in the province of Barcelona, situated at 112 meters above sea level on the Vallès-facing slope of the Litoral mountain range, on the border with the Maresme and the Barcelonès, with a population of 9,419 inhabitants. Its present municipal territory was formed in 1504 from the merger of two old parishes, Sant Fost and Sant Cebrià de Cabanyes, the latter consecrated in 1192. The place name is documented from the 10th century: in 967 a donation of land to the monastery of Sant Cugat is recorded, and in 978 Seniol granted the parish of Campsentelles to his godson Guillem. The church of Sant Fost was consecrated several times, the last in 1141 by Bishop Arnau Ermengol, on the site of today's Sant Pere neighborhood.
