What to see and do in Torrelles de Llobregat

Torrelles de Llobregat
Village
Torrelles de Llobregat is a small municipality in the Baix Llobregat district, in the province of Barcelona, located between the Garraf massif and the Llobregat valley, about 16 kilometres from the city. The name Torrellas is documented for the first time in the year 964, and the town was linked for centuries to the manorial family of the same name. Until the 1916 municipal reform it was simply called Torrellas, a name that later became Torrellas de Llobregat and finally the current Catalan form. With 6,170 inhabitants, the municipality is home to Catalunya en Miniatura, one of the largest miniature parks in the world, and every March it holds two popular mountain-bike downhill races.

The terraces of the sierra of Torrelles give one of the most prized cherries in the surroundings of Barcelona, of short harvest and direct sale in the village. The harvest is celebrated at the end of May and in June with events and tastings.
