What to see and do in Villar de Fallaves

Villar de Fallaves
Village
Villar de Fallaves is a hamlet in the province of Zamora, with 50 inhabitants, whose municipal land is crossed by the Roman road that linked the Duero with Pallantia. In the 13th century it belonged to the district of Villalpando and had some importance, with market squares and a weekly market, as well as two churches and, until the 19th century, numerous chapels now vanished, such as those of Santa Marina, Santa Catalina and San Sebastián. In the 14th century it passed into the hands of the Fernández de Velasco family, becoming part of the Provincia de las Tierras del Condestable. Its Gothic church of San Vicente Mártir, which belonged to the Order of San Juan, still bears that order's cross on its portal.
