What to see and do in Villavendimio

Villavendimio
Village
Villavendimio is a village in the eastern part of Zamora province, 42 kilometres from the provincial capital and 6 from Toro, on flat ground at an average altitude of 727 metres. Already documented in the Late Middle Ages, it was represented by the city of Toro at the Cortes and depended on its archpriesthood; it once had two churches, one of them, dedicated to San Andrés, which disappeared in the early 19th century during the Peninsular War. Its church of San Miguel, from the 18th century with an unfinished tower, holds a baroque main altarpiece and 16th-century Renaissance choir stalls brought from the monastery of La Santa Espina. It has 150 inhabitants, celebrates its patronal festivals on 29 September, and hosts the Villatechnillo festival in August.
