What to see and do in Aguasal

Aguasal
Village
Aguasal is one of the least populated municipalities in the province of Valladolid, in Castile and León, with 18 inhabitants divided between the village itself and the hamlet of Ordoño, set in a hollow surrounded by low hills in the Tierra de Pinares district. The River Eresma runs through its municipal area, forming the boundary with Villaverde de Íscar, as does the Gansería lagoon, so named because geese were once raised there. In 1935 the bullfighter Juan Matos, “Mataperros”, from Medina, died tragically in the village's bullring, and his remains rest in the local cemetery. Its main monument is the church of San Pedro, built in brick in the 16th century, with six gilded altars, a dome on squinches, a tower with bands of stone, and a triple-arched portico topped by three stone balls.
