What to see and do in Ramiro

Ramiro
Village
Ramiro is a hamlet in the province of Valladolid, 72 kilometres from the provincial capital, with 44 inhabitants and a municipal area of 21 km² of gentle rolling land given over to cereal crops, dotted with pine woods and the occasional low-flow stream. Two kilometres from its centre lie the remains of a medieval site, and in the centre of the village, presiding over the Plaza Mayor, stands the simple, almost undecorated church of San Miguel Arcángel. The landscape, with a dry climate contrasting long, cold winters with short, hot summers, is home to holm oaks, stone pine and maritime pine woods, and wildlife such as hares, foxes, partridges, storks and great bustards, as well as small ponds that in winter host migratory birds such as geese and cranes. Its economy remains based on cereal farming.
