Brahojos de Medina
Village
Brahojos de Medina is a village in the province of Valladolid, in the district of Tierra de Medina, set on the foot of a hillside. Its territory preserves finds from the late Roman and medieval periods, and the town is documented as early as 1265, as a parish dependent on the Abadía de Medina del Campo; in the 18th century it was listed as crown land. It now has 96 inhabitants, compared with 210 in the mid-19th century. Its church of Santa María Magdalena, from the 16th century, with a Gothic-Mudéjar chancel reformed in the 18th, houses a crucifix by Gregorio Fernández and a carving of San Isidro Labrador more than six hundred years old, one of the oldest in Spain.
