Pozuelo de la Orden
Village
Pozuelo de la Orden is a municipality in the province of Valladolid, in the Tierra de Campos comarca, with 63 inhabitants. In the early 10th century, the Mozarab Ebrahem donated to the monastery of Sahagún some lands that the monks called villa Pozolos; on 11 November 944 King Ramiro II confirmed that donation. The town later passed through different hands: in 958 it was received by the Cathedral of León, and in the 11th century it was granted by Jimena Muñoz and the infanta Elvira, until Alfonso VI handed it to San Isidoro de León in 1103. Between 1139 and 1149 it received the Fuero de Pozuelo de Campos (a medieval charter), the document in which the term "adobe" appears for the first time. Its chapel of Santa Ana covers the nave with a 16th-century Mudéjar timber roof and displays twelve paintings of the Old Testament.
