Miño de San Esteban
Village
Miño de San Esteban is a village of 43 inhabitants of the Tierras del Burgo, in the diocese of Osma. In the 1787 census it appeared under the lordship of the marchioness of Villena, with 208 inhabitants, and by the mid-19th century it had 63 houses. It preserves traditional wine cellars and presses, and its 12th-century Romanesque church of San Martín, which has a defensive tower, an apse with a Gothic addition, a fine south portal with archivolts and a Mudéjar wooden coffered ceiling; the capitals are dominated by plant motifs, except for one, decorated with simply carved animal figures. Its patronal festivities, on the second weekend of July, begin with the Friday pregón and bring together residents with the «Miñorros» who emigrated to other provinces.
