What to see and do in Hinojosa del Campo

Hinojosa del Campo
Village
Hinojosa del Campo, in the Soria comarca of Campo de Gómara and within the diocese of Osma, has on its territory part of the protected site of the Quejigares y encinares de Sierra del Madero, which covers almost a fifth of its surface area. The 1528 Censo de Pecheros already recorded 45 family units paying taxes, and in 1842, integrated as a constitutional municipality of the partido of Ágreda, the hamlet had 88 households and 350 residents, the same number of houses recorded in the mid-19th century by Madoz's dictionary. Now reduced to 24 inhabitants, it preserves a medieval tower and the church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, which, after a file opened in 1983, was declared a Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection) in 2016.
