Barca
Village
Barca is a town in the comarca of Almazán, in the province of Soria, situated by the river Duero, whose municipal area includes the annexed settlement of Ciadueña, incorporated in the mid-19th century. It has about 116 inhabitants. In 1895 the Valladolid-Ariza railway line was opened, with its own station in the locality, which remained in passenger service until its closure in 1985. Part of its municipal area is included in the Site of Community Importance Riberas del Río Duero y afluentes. It retains its rollo de justicia (jurisdictional column), a smooth-shafted column six metres high, raised on a two-stepped circular platform and topped with three short arms and a pinnacle bearing a cross, protected as a cultural asset since 14 March 1963.

Of the Romanesque fabric of the church there survives the arcaded gallery that opens in the south wall, dated to the last years of the twelfth century. It is one of the arched galleries that characterise the rural Romanesque of Soria.
