What to see and do in Fuentepelayo

Fuentepelayo
Village
Fuentepelayo is a town in the province of Segovia with two churches declared Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection): that of Santa María, in 1995, and that of El Salvador, in 1996. Its patronal festivities are held the third week of August, with four encierros and a parade of floats prepared over months by the local peñas. But the best-known event is the Feria del Ángel, which dates from the 18th century and, in its current format, began in 1985: it is held the first weekend of March and brings together about two hundred exhibitors of agricultural and livestock machinery, along with food, crafts and furniture. Since 1986 it has been accompanied by the Feria del Caballo, with horse trading and dressage exhibitions. It has about 764 inhabitants.
