Bercial
Village
Bercial is a locality in the province of Segovia, in the Campiña Segoviana, which belonged to the sexmo de la Trinidad of the Comunidad de Ciudad y Tierra de Segovia. On its territory, two kilometres from the village, stands the abadía de Santa María la Real de Párraces, which Mendizábal's disentailment turned in 1835 into an estate and private residence. Its church is dedicated to the martyrs Juan and Pablo, whose feast is celebrated on 23 and 24 June, though the main festivities are those of Santa Ana, from 25 to 27 July. It has about 102 inhabitants, against the 353 recorded by Pascual Madoz in the mid-19th century.
