Bernuy de Porreros
Village
A municipality of some 1,340 inhabitants whose Church of Santiago Apóstol is reckoned a jewel of Segovian Romanesque for its south-facing portico; as early as 1770 a clay pipe ran from the Rubiales spring carrying water as far as Zamarramala.
Church of Santiago Apóstol de Bernuy
Monument
Considered one of the jewels of Segovian Romanesque for the finely carved capitals of its south porch. The municipal district also holds the ruins of the church of San Medel with its bellcote and the remains of the hermitage of San Roque.
Segovian sgraffito
Curiosity
The façades of the village preserve esgrafiados, the Segovian decorative technique that consists of scraping a layer of mortar to leave the one beneath in view, forming grids and geometric designs on the render.
