Mancera de Abajo
Village
Mancera de Abajo is a village in the Tierra de Peñaranda, in the province of Salamanca, crossed by the Navazamplón river, with about 190 inhabitants. It was linked to the Community of Villa and Tierra de Ávila between the 11th and 15th centuries, when, in the first third of that last century, it passed to the Salamancan jurisdiction of the Kingdom of León, and after 1833 it was placed within the partido of Peñaranda de Bracamonte. In the mid-19th century it had 303 inhabitants, according to Pascual Madoz's Dictionary. It preserves the palace of the marquises of Mancera and the church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario.
