Serradilla del Llano
Village
Serradilla del Llano is a hamlet of about 136 inhabitants in the comarca of Ciudad Rodrigo, at the southern edge of the province of Salamanca, bordering Cáceres, which includes the settlement of Porteros. Founded during the medieval Leonese repopulation, it was first called Sierra del Llano, within the Campo de Agadones created by Ferdinand II of León in the 12th century. It looks out over the Sierra de Gata and the Agadón river, whose views today attract rural tourism, with two rural guesthouses in the village. Its most crowded festival is not that of Santa Catalina, on November 25, but that of the Cristo, on August 6.
