San Millán de Lara
Village
San Millán de Lara is a hamlet in the Sierra de la Demanda comarca, in the province of Burgos, located in the old alfoz of Lara, south of the sierra de Mencilla and north of the sierras of las Mamblas and Carazo, bathed by the San Martín river, 18 kilometers from Salas de los Infantes and 45 from the provincial capital. Its municipal area also includes the locality of Iglesiapinta. With 61 inhabitants, it preserves a collegiate church rebuilt in the 12th and 13th centuries in Romanesque-Gothic style, whose founding is attributed to Count Fernán González. Here was born in 1905 Saint Victoriano Pío, a martyr canonized in 1999.
