Adrada de Haza
Village
Adrada de Haza is a municipality of 200 inhabitants in the Ribera del Duero comarca, in the province of Burgos, situated at 826 metres of altitude on the slope separating the vega of the Riaza river from the Páramo de Corcos. It was part of the Comunidad de Villa y Tierra de Aza and remained under that town's jurisdiction until 1738, when, under Philip V, it bought its independence to become a town, though still dependent on the count of Miranda and duke of Peñaranda de Duero until the abolition of the manorial lordships in the 19th century. It preserves the Romanesque ermita of the Santo Cristo de los Remedios, a 17th-century wayside cross, the medieval tower of El Torrejón and remains of a Celtiberian settlement.
