Los Altos
Village
Los Altos is a municipality of 177 inhabitants in the Las Merindades comarca of Burgos, with its capital in the town of Dobro, created in 1910 on separating from the Merindad de Valdivielso with the hamlets of Ahedo de Butrón, Escóbados de Abajo and de Arriba, Porquera de Butrón, Quintanilla-Colina, Tubilleja, Tudanca and Villalta, and renamed Los Altos in 1930, when it also incorporated Pesadas de Burgos and Villaescusa del Butrón with its hamlet of Huidobro. It now brings together eleven minor local entities and also includes the depopulated hamlet of Villalta. Its uplands host three wind farms: El Cerro, with 30 turbines and a capacity of 19,800 kW; La Mesa, with 15 and 9,000 kW; and the extension of Peña Alta, with 4 and 3,400 kW.
