Busto de Bureba
Village
Busto de Bureba is a municipality of Burgos in the comarca of La Bureba, 57 kilometres from the capital, known par excellence as the gateway to the Obarenes, with part of its municipal area lying within the Montes Obarenes nature park, between the sierra de Oña and the río Matapán. It preserves the church of San Martín, head of a parish on which Berzosa, Cascajares, Cubo and La Vid de Bureba depend, as well as Miraveche; the ermita de la Virgen de Mediavilla, its patroness, to whom a procession is dedicated on the Friday of the thanksgiving festival; and the ruins of the monastery of San Miguel. Its festival, in August, also includes the processions of the Santo Entierro and the Encuentro, during Holy Week. It now has 140 inhabitants.
