Valle de las Navas
Village
Valle de las Navas is a municipality in the Alfoz de Burgos district, born in the 1970s from the merger of seven villages —Rioseras, Riocerezo, Robredo-Temiño, Tobes y Rahedo, Melgosa, Celada de la Torre and Temiño— with its seat in Rioseras, on the watershed between the Duero and Ebro basins. The mountain range that crosses it, reaching up to 1,050 metres, is home to holm oaks, oaks, roe deer, wild boar and golden eagles, and today also the La Brújula wind farm, with 35 turbines. With 549 inhabitants, notable sites include the church of Tobes y Rahedo, which blends Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque styles between the 11th and 17th centuries, that of Santa María la Mayor in Robredo-Temiño, from the 15th century, and the ruins of San Saturnino in Rioseras.
