Quintanilla del Agua y Tordueles
Village
Quintanilla del Agua y Tordueles is a municipality of 336 inhabitants made up of two villages separated by the Arlanza river: Quintanilla del Agua, where the town hall is located, and Tordueles, 3.5 km away. In Quintanilla, the craftsman Félix Yáñez built a recreation of a medieval village with a corral de comedias (open-air theatre), and a rural house installed in the old mill, with its original machinery, is preserved. At Christmas the residents perform a living nativity scene that draws around 300 people, and in August a five-a-side football (futbito) championship is held. In Tordueles, the feast of San Roque is celebrated every 16 August, with a procession from the hermitage on the hill of the wine cellars and a night dance with an orchestra in the main square.
