Cisla
Village
Cisla is a town in the district of La Moraña, in the province of Ávila, at 853 metres of altitude; it has 107 inhabitants, against the 204 recorded by Madoz in the mid-19th century. On its land stands the tower of the castle of Torralba, of rectangular plan, with a base alternating brick and rubble-and-lime masonry and walls of brick, which dominates the plain of the left bank of the Zapardiel river from a slight rise; the circumstances of its construction are unknown, and already in the Ensenada Cadastre of 1751 it appeared as depopulated. Today only a standing wall remains, with numerous putlog holes and a small arrow slit, and the surrounding land preserves traces of the moat that surrounded the fortification. The town also has a church under the advocation of the Asunción de Nuestra Señora.
