What to see and do in San Juan de la Nava

San Juan de la Nava
Village
San Juan de la Nava is a municipality in the province of Ávila set at 1117 metres of altitude, on the abulense slope of the Alberche valley. Its landscape, typical of the Meseta and subject to sharp temperature swings, brings together oak woods in areas such as Las Camas or Gamonal, broom scrub at El Pucheruelo or Cabeza de Mula, pine woods at La Solana, walnut trees by La Garganta, ash groves at La Hoce and holm oak woods at Las Umbrías, as well as rockrose scrub in the warmer areas. In Madoz's dictionary, in the mid-19th century, it appeared with 692 residents, considerably more than the 422 inhabitants it now has. The municipality approved its heraldic coat of arms in 2016 and its flag in 2013.
