What to see and do in Navaluenga

Navaluenga
Village
Navaluenga is a town of around 2135 inhabitants in the Alberche river valley, in the province of Ávila, at 763 metres above sea level, on the northern side of the foothills of the Sierra de Gredos. The Alberche river crosses the village from west to east, forming, from the Romanesque bridge to beyond the new bridge, natural swimming pools much frequented in summer. To the south rises the Sierra del Valle, an extension of Gredos, where clear-watered gorges rise — the Rollar, the Gargantilla, Chivetiles, Raios, the Maguillo and the Cabrera — among meadows, orchards and woods of oak, ash, walnut and chestnut. In the mid-nineteenth century the village had 913 inhabitants, well below the present figure.
