Somolinos
Village
A municipality in the northern mountains of Guadalajara, in the comarca of the Serranía de Guadalajara, with about 26 inhabitants, a fifth of the 149 recorded by Madoz in the mid-19th century, when he described the place in the fourteenth volume of his Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España. Its main natural attraction is the Laguna de Somolinos, of notable size, located within its municipal area. The village preserves the parish church of the Immaculate Conception, under the invocation of the Purísima, topped with a bell-gable.
