Semillas
Village
Semillas is a municipality in the northern mountains of Guadalajara, in the Sorbe valley, with elevations ranging from 900 metres at the river to 1,550 at Santotis peak. It has 25 inhabitants (INE 2025). In 1970 it merged with the neighbouring village of Las Cabezadas to form the municipality of Secarro, a name that combined the initials of Semillas, Las Cabezadas and Robredarcas, three settlements with which an attempt had once been made, unsuccessfully, to form a single population of about 500 inhabitants; in 1975 Secarro reverted to the name Semillas. Its parish church is dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel, and within its municipal area lie the abandoned settlements of Las Cabezadas, La Iruela, Robredarcas and Las Teinadas.
