El Ordial
Village
El Ordial is a municipality of the Serranía de Guadalajara situated in the Sierra Norte Natural Park, at the foot of the sierra de Alto Rey, at 1,176 m of altitude. With 45 inhabitants (INE 2025), the territory also includes the settlement of La Nava de Jadraque. It came close to disappearing due to rural exodus and the ageing of its population in the second half of the 20th century, but its residents organised and managed to reverse the situation. Its parish church of San Sebastián is a rural Romanesque temple from the 13th century, and the festivities are celebrated on the weekend closest to 20 August, with rondas (musical rounds) and the auction of the saint.
