Baides is a municipality of the Serranía de Guadalajara located at 861 metres above sea level, on the banks of the Henares, on the stretch of the Ruta de la Lana between Mandayona and Viana de Jadraque. It has 46 inhabitants, compared with the 176 it had in the mid-19th century. Its heraldic coat of arms was officially approved in 1990.
