Iniéstola
Village
Iniéstola is a municipality in the comarca of Señorío de Molina, in the province of Guadalajara, situated at 1,157 metres above sea level, with its pine woodland as its main natural and economic resource: timber and resin were extracted from it, and with that income the town council brought water and electricity to the houses and funded studies for the eldest children of each family before other more populous municipalities did the same. The pine woodland has suffered several fires; the one in 2005 devastated more than 13,000 hectares and cost the lives of eleven workers. Its parish church is dedicated to San Juan ante Portam Latinam. The village, formerly written Hiniéstola, was engaged in a dispute with Anguita over ownership of the pine woodland, resolved by the Supreme Court in 1940. It had 19 inhabitants according to the INE of 2025.
