Valdeconcha
Village
Valdeconcha is a municipality in the comarca of La Alcarria, in the south of the province of Guadalajara, situated at about 750 metres of altitude and crossed by the Arlés stream, surrounded by holm oak groves, oak woods and pine forests already mentioned in the mid-19th century. Until the creation of the current provinces in 1834 it had belonged, at least since 1490, to the former province of Madrid, within the district of Almonacid de Zorita, in the comarca of La Alcarria itself; since then it has been part of Guadalajara, in the judicial district of Pastrana. In the mid-19th century it had 533 inhabitants recorded, compared with the 42 it has today. It retains the ermita de Santa Ana y San Joaquín and the remains of an old palace.
