What to see and do in Salillas de Jalón

Salillas de Jalón
Village
Salillas de Jalón is a municipality in the comarca of Valdejalón, in Zaragoza, with 372 inhabitants (2025) and barely 2.54 km². Until 1916 it was called simply Salillas. Situated at 303 metres above sea level next to the Jalón river, it preserves the parish church of San Martín Obispo, cave houses and wine cellars, and a mill driven by a water fall. La Torraza, a Mudejar tower of which only a corner and part of its base survive, is one of the comarca's examples of Aragonese Mudejar; the village also preserves the Torre del Señorío, fourteen metres high, which had residential use until its restoration and is known as Casa de los Moros because, after losing its military function, it was inhabited by Muslim families. Its patronal festivals are held on the first Sunday of October, for Our Lady of the Rosary.
