What to see and do in San Martín de la Virgen de Moncayo

San Martín de la Virgen de Moncayo
Village
San Martín de la Virgen de Moncayo is a municipality of 266 inhabitants (INE 2025) at the foot of the mountain range, at 813 metres above sea level and 11 kilometres from Tarazona, within the Moncayo natural park. It arose in the 19th century from the union of the districts of San Martín and San Prudencio, which until then belonged to Lituénigo. It is one of the comarca's leading villages for mycology, with a Mycology Centre and events devoted to the saffron milk caps, ceps and king oyster mushrooms that grow in its pine and beech woods. It preserves the church of San Martín de Tours, built between 1931 and 1954 in Neo-Romanesque style with 17th- and 18th-century furnishings, and holds a pilgrimage in June to the sanctuary of the Virgin of Moncayo.
