What to see and do in Luceni

Luceni
Village
Luceni is a municipality in the province of Zaragoza, in the comarca of Ribera Alta del Ebro, situated at 234 metres above sea level and crossed by the Canal Imperial de Aragón, whose waters fertilise its irrigated land beside the Ebro. It has 1,003 inhabitants (INE 2025), in addition to the settlements of Los Cabezos and Monte Comunes. In its territory coins and medals from Roman times, from the emperor Antoninus Pius (138-161), have been found, along with Visigothic remains from the reigns of Wamba and Witiza. Reconquered by Alfonso I of Aragón, the Battler, in 1110, it was the centre of one of the oldest lordships of the House of Luna and later passed, through inheritance and sale, through several lineages until in 1443 Bartolomé de Reus founded the Mayorazgo (entailed estate) of Luceni and Boquiñeni.
