What to see and do in Torralba de Ribota

Torralba de Ribota
Village
Torralba de Ribota is a municipality in the region of the Community of Calatayud, in the province of Zaragoza, with a Mudéjar tower declared a World Heritage Site. The village sits on a rounded hill, at 648 metres, near the Ribota river, from which it takes its name; Torralba derives from the Latin Turris Alba, after the white stone tower that can still be admired, although decades ago a roof was added that disguises its old battlements. Its dry and irrigated farming draws on the Pantano de la Hoz reservoir, from 1916. The main monument is the church of San Félix Mártir, one of the finest examples of Aragonese Mudéjar, a Gothic-Cistercian fortress-church built between 1367 and 1420, whose art was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. It has 157 inhabitants (INE 2025).
Mudéjar Tower of Torralba de Ribota
Monument
The Mudéjar tower of Torralba de Ribota (Zaragoza) is part of the church of San Félix Mártir, built between 1367 and 1420 in Gothic-Cistercian style as a fortress-church. Its tower, in the Aragonese Mudéjar tradition, is included in the UNESCO World Heritage declaration that recognises the Mudéjar art of Aragon. According to tradition, the village owes its name to this same white tower, from the Latin Turris Alba.
