La Puebla de Alfindén
Village
La Puebla de Alfindén is a municipality in the Comarca Central of Zaragoza, in Aragón, situated on the left bank of the río Ebro, near the mouth of the Gállego, at 197 metres above sea level and 18 km from the capital. Its municipal area, mostly flat except for the hills of Alfajarín to the north, includes part of the los Sotos y Galachos del Ebro nature reserve. It has 6,550 inhabitants, compared with barely 600 in the mid-19th century, when it already appeared described in the Diccionario de Pascual Madoz. Its parish church is dedicated to Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. The town, traditionally agricultural, has undergone strong industrial development: the workforce in that sector rose from 30% to 80%, and it now has three industrial estates.
